First National Rare Diseases Forum Held in Azerbaijan

On February 28, Azerbaijan hosted the First National Rare Diseases Forum dedicated to International Rare Disease Day. The event aimed to raise awareness and discuss the needs of people living with rare diseases. The forum was organized at the initiative of the Rare Diseases Organizations Union, with the support of the Ministry of Health, TABİB, and the Public Health and Reforms Center.

The main goal of the forum was to bring attention to the challenges faced by individuals with rare diseases and to discuss possible solutions through cooperation between healthcare institutions, experts, and civil society organizations. 

During the cultural part of the event, the dance performance presented by children with autism deeply impressed and inspired the audience.

Rare diseases are not only medical issue, but also a social issue - highlighting the importance ​of creation of unified database on rare diseases.
